Round 1 - The Bridges

Abel got in the backseat of the taxi. The kid would be better off without him...
Unsuspecting, John hopped off the bus, frowning at his report card.
He was pretty stoked that his friend Dorian Rossi came home with him.  "Come on in!"
Whoa... Dot usually wasn't that aggressive!
"Dad?"
"Dad?!"
"You know what this means?" he asked excitedly.
PARTY!
John invited a few friends over, but only Opal came over.
She had a thing for him.
The teens had fun dancing the night away.
Feeling brave, John broke into his dad's beer.
"So? ASK her?" Dorian prompted.
John worked up the liquid courage to make his move.
After Dorian and Opal left, John crashed on the couch.
Waking up, his head was throbbing like crazy.  How did Dad drink all the time?
Too bad he had to go to school.
Getting home from school, he headed to check on his Dad.
Still no sign of him.
"Did Dad come home, girl?" John asked Dot, not expecting a reply.
Not up for another party, John turned on the cable and watched movies until late into the night.
John crashed on the couch again with Dot nearby.
Waking up early in the morning, he headed to his bedroom.
And there went the bus...
...with John not on it.
"DOT! Bad dog!" John yelled, stepping out and seeing the large puddle on the carpet.
Not like he was going to clean it, though!
He popped an insta-meal in the oven.
Spending the afternoon and evening alone gave John a lot of time to think...
He actually made it to school.
Boy, had his grades plummeted.
The place was a mess, too.
It was hard work keeping up the house!
Nothing like boxed macaroni for dinner!
The silence in the house was getting to him.
Picking up the phone, he called his Dad's cell.  "Where ARE you?!!"
Hanging up, he made another phone call.
"I'm so glad you could make it."
If his Dad wasn't going to come home - he could do whatever he wanted!
Just to rub it in, he took the comfortable bed.
After school, he met up with Dorian at the Sports Park.
SCHA-WING!
It was a blast.
He headed home, noticing the red roses dropped off at his door.
Uh oh.
"Hey man! What are you doing?!" John squeaked with affront.
Of all the things in the house, he had to take the bookcase...
He hadn't even THOUGHT about bills.
"JUST IN CASE YOU WANT TO KNOW, WE JUST GOT A VISIT FROM THE REPO MAN!" John yelled into his Dad's cell phone.  "WHEN THE HELL ARE YOU COMING HOME DAD?!"

  2. So did you roll a single teenager for this house? While it's not fun that the parent left the child, it's refreshing to see a prosperity where parents didn't die
